Last thing I should mention- I decided to test this out by getting a BRAND NEW computer so NO I am not using my other previous MacBook Pro because I wanted to see what the problem could be. I really don't know what to do because if I get a new Apple ID then I risk losing everything I bought in the Mac store which includes final cut pro and many other applications I bought. I had all my applications showing up as calendar.app etc here is a picture of it in my iCloud. My Could has some adware or malware and I don't know how to get rid of it I recently posted on one of these threads that my Mac was having tons of issues with adware and malware inside my MacBook Pro. The only software that I've knowingly and willingly downloaded and/or installed on my machine: I do much of my work on an standard account instead of an admin account (don't know if that helps). I'm careful about clicking links and I think that I've got a reasonably secure machine for a non-tech wizard. However, this experience spooked me a bit as my family has had some hack/malware problems in the past few months.Īdditionally, I keep a copy of Malwarebytes on my machine and I've run scans with that. From the brief seconds that I had, I saw nothing suspicious (no strange/unfamiliar processes). After 2-3 seconds, however, the program was no where to be found on my activity monitor so I didn't get a chance to check other categories like memory. When I logged back in, activity monitor said that MRT was taking up 90% of my CPU. After that, the machine turned off entirely (hard crash, not sleep) and rebooted itself. From there, I logged in again using my fingerprint. I used the Touch Bar to lock the screen as it was the only function of my machine that worked properly. After about 5 seconds, I realized that it wasn't temporary. I thought that this was temporary and attempted to keep working. Situation and context: I was at college when my computer suddenly froze. Is this a sign that my computer was/is infected or am I just paranoid? I see no other signs of suspicious activity and Malwarebytes came up dry. Do I have/did I have malware or is this just an update? Hi all,Ĭentral Question: MRT suddenly ran and crashed my computer. I just want my peace of mind back.Ĭomputer crashed. I ran etrecheck earlier to check what's wrong but some of these don't make sense to me so I don't think theres something wrong with this. One keychain name that stuck to me was .rpassword and I couldn't find anything about it on google and duckduckgoĪnd while I was checking the devices connected to my applied earlier, cdpd crashed. Then the other day, .remoteservices quit unexpectedly: I first noticed this when I checked my mail and found that I sent a malicious email to then my activity monitor started showing unusual processes - I always check the activity monitor because I understand that I only have 8GB Ram: On my Keychain, I also saw that there are name's I'm not familiar with like Engram, AutoUnlock, Health, Manatee, Home, LimitedPeersAllowed,, SOSDataSource-ak. It does not store any personal data.I noticed a couple of problems on my mac, and I think I got infected by malware.
